The gingham kick continues.
Sometimes, when you’re going out, you just wanna look hot.
Am I wrong for saying that?
Maybe it makes me less of a stereotypical fashion blogger, but if I’m planning on meeting up with friends at a local bar, I’m not necessarily pulling out an oversized menswear blazer or doing a head-to-toe monochromatic look (a.k.a. the trends you’re currently seeing on supermodels and fashion editors).
Instead, I want to have fun with wearable trends while flattering my body. This going out outfit encompasses just that– style doesn’t have to always be so serious! Of course, if I have a special event I’ll pull out my more fashion-y pieces, but I think many of you can relate to a more low-key approach of dressing for everyday life.
Because I’ve been on a gingham kick, as well as a flared sleeves kick, this top really checked all my boxes. (See what I did there?) I loved its wrap-style design with a long string to tie around your waist, giving it extra flair. I’m not in great crop-top shape right now, but the string helped to camouflage that a bit. đŸ˜‰
With a crop top, high-rise jeans are a must! These are cropped in length with frayed hems, giving them an on-trend look compared to regular skinny jeans. I gave my outfit a pop of color with a red bag I got from this summer’s Zara sale, and wore some lace-up sandals with a block heel, which are the perfect balance of casual and dressy.
