Sweater weather has arrived! Though we’ve been #blessed with wonderful warm weather so far this season, it’s starting to cool off– which means it’s time to prepare your knitwear.
This fall, it’s all about statement sleeves. Flared or bell sleeves, balloon sleeves, pleated sleeves– these are the kinds of eye-catching designs that should be at the top of your shopping list this season. Personally, I’m enjoying the statement sleeve trend because I feel it gives a “pop” to basic sweaters. Fun sleeve details can really set your knitwear apart and give you a trendy look while still staying warm– which is key!
As for my look, I was instantly drawn to this off the shoulder sweater with 3/4 flared sleeves in an olive green hue. I wanted a sweater to match my olive green booties, which are made from waterproof suede. If you know me, you know it’s a huge pet peeve of mine to ruin leather and suede from walking in shitty weather conditions, so anytime I find cute waterproof shoes (that aren’t rubber) I’m all over them.
My sweater is by an independent brand sold through Forever 21; you may have noticed some of their prices jump up in the past year, due to selling non-Forever 21 brand items. Note that since this sweater has a bit of an oversized body, along with wide sleeves, it’s key to at least partially tuck it into the top of your jeans, or else it will swallow up your figure. I paired it with my LV Neverfull bag, which is a go-to in the fall, since it’s coloring compliments my autumn wardrobe well.
Below, I’ve rounded up some of my other favorite sweaters with statement sleeves, most of which are under $100!

Cozy up in one of the above stylish options– though I generally opt for neutral hues, I definitely suggest trying a bold red sweater this fall– it’s the color of the season!
