1. Fuzzy Jacket
How cozy does this jacket look? I like its moto-style lapel which gives it some edge to contrast with its otherwise cuddly vibe. Textured jackets are major this season, and I could see myself wearing this over a formfitting turtleneck top, with jeans and boots.
2. Hiking Boots
I am ALL for the hiking boot trend this season (a.k.a. the lug-soled lace-up boots I spoke about in my Fall Fashion Must Haves) – they are so functional for the cold winter months, but look much more fashionable than traditional winter boots. These are the perfect boots to pair with jeans and a chunky sweater this winter; I like how the sherpa lining peeks out without being overly in-your-face, and the richness of their dark tan hue. I’ll be waiting for these to go on sale!
3. The Courage to be Disliked
This book is next up on my reading list, just from its title alone. What a great concept! I think everyone could benefit from this way of thinking in order to cope with the symptoms of living in a social media-obsessed society, where the “like” button is our form of currency.
For me in particular, this book’s message seems very relevant as I put myself “out there” on the internet with the goal of being a full-time blogger. I sometimes struggle with the worry of what people will think or say about me (and my content), and there have been times when the fear of being judged (or disliked) holds me back from expressing myself fully. I am working on developing more of a DGAF attitude, and that definitely comes from having the courage to be disliked.
4. Esplar Sneakers
First of all, let me say that these have been on my wish list long before the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, wore a pair of sneakers by the same brand recently. I’m sure that since wearing them on her Royal Tour, the sneaker’s popularity has exploded – probably why my size is currently sold out. (Thanks a lot, Meghan. -_- )
In addition to their royal stamp of approval, these sneakers have a simple, clean look which is super versatile and will go with so many outfits. I’ve been looking for a pair of white leather low-top sneakers to replace my Adidas Stan Smith’s, which are looking quite beat up after accompanying me on two recent Euro trips involving lots of walking.
Even though Stan Smith’s are a classic, I’m kind of over them at the moment; I’ve worn them so much that I’m ready to try a new style/brand. I’ve also already tried Superga sneakers, which gave me the worst blisters! So, my search lead me to Veja’s sneakers, which are eco-friendly, as an added bonus.
5. Soliel Tan de Chanel Bronzing Base
I love cream makeup products because they have a more natural look, so I can’t believe I’ve yet to try a cream bronzer. Everyone raves about this bronzer being the best, so I’m dying to try it out myself! It’s pricey, but I have a feeling it will be worth it.
